Alva Worsley learned to do art from her late husband who was an architect. He taught her to study a scene, to see much more than is visible at a casual glance. Together they painted on sight in Northern Ontario, and many times in the Maritimes and across Canada. In later years they also painted in Texas and Florida.
Alva paints in watercolour, oil and acrylic, and has included samples from each medium in her book.
